Area 5 Fall Meeting

With spools as our theme, we were honored to host the Area 5 fall meeting October 25, 2013, in Calais at the Methodist Church.  Chapters from Charlotte, Washington and Hancock counties attended this semi-annual gathering of quilters.  We had a spools block drawing, anti-ouch pouch challenge (won by Down East Quilters of Machias area), show and tell, doorprizes of spool tablerunners, delicious food and lots of fun.

Our special guest cancelled at the last minute due to illness and members went above and beyond planning an interesting and informative evening to take her place.  It featured four demonstrations: 
Learning Curve Ruler with Sue McIver; Scrap Quilt Fun with Mary Louise Peters;
Necktie Purse with Leona Juranty and Shabby Chic Applique Rose Quilt with Pat Wyeth.
